Justin "Bugsy" Sailor

The Secret Weapon

Yo, call me Bugsy. Need web analytics? Social media? SEO? I love it all, and ice cream, too. Drop me a line.

As M3's secret weapon and Michigan's unofficial ambassador for the Upper Peninsula, Bugsy sure packs a lot into a day. At the top of his (never-ending) to-do list are some miscellaneous Web analytics, a bit of search engine optimization, social media exploration and, of course, eating a bowl of ice cream.

But after all of Bugsy's chores are done and he's cleaned his plate, he enjoys nothing more than putting up his feet and dreaming big dreams. Some have called his dreams "crazy," but he couldn't care less.

After graduating with a B.A. degree in advertising and a B.A. degree in sociology from Michigan State University in 2006, Bugsy hopped on the road to execute a yearlong road trip around the United States that he calls, "The Hometown Invasion Tour." Blogging, photographing and staying with strangers in over 100 households for an entire year and the first to bring a squirrel to all 50 states.

Bugsy also created and runs Yooper Steez, a notable upper peninsula t-shirt company and blog. He's working to get his signature shirt design to all seven continents — only one left to go, Antarctica … and he's already got a plan.

All right, so there's some dreaming mixed with travel and a side of Web work … but what does the secret weapon do for M3, one might ask. Excellent question. There's only one way to find out …
