Emily Caswell
Discussion Diva
When Emily Caswell hung up her newsgirl cap for a sparkling tiara, boa and shades - a discussion diva was born. Reigning supreme as managing editor of Capital Area Women's LifeStyle Magazine (CAWLM), Emily's communication skills rock the publication and the agency alike. Whether she's laying the AP style smack down or searching for the best sale in the city, our self-proclaimed fashionistia is more than a saavy shopper.
After graduating from Michigan State University (MSU) in 2004 - go green! - with her bachelors degree in journalism, Emily rocked publication after publication. From her internship with the Lansing State Journal, Emily went on to her well-known gig at NOISE magazine. While working for NOISE, she promoted the awesomeness that is Lansing through new products and her own column, drawing a loyal audience of 20-something readers - an audience that publishers had been after for years.
Most recently, Emily ran the show at her hometown paper in Lapeer, Mich., eventually managing the free weekly. Having her hand in just about every part of the publication process, our diva once again increased readership, built relationships and helped small town folk feel like rock stars. Back in Lansing, once again, Em is ready to take on M3's publication, as well as a few events, mag promotions and even a brainstorming meeting or two.
Don't let the pretty face fool you; Emily is back in action in the state capital and rockin' the socks off CAWLM readers. And let it be known, the tiara is only temporary ... one day Emily will be queen.
