It's always important
to start from the beginning. We at M3 are often asked to
go straight to the middle and recommend a strategy or advertising
medium that will fit the organization's needs, but without
proper planning and understanding - it is a waste of time
and resources.
When we say start at the beginning, it means we have to do
the initial research and understanding of who you are, who
your customers are and the most effective ways of reaching
them. After this information is collected, we like to get creative.
The plan is simple. We want to ignite interest in the company
as illustrated in the development of a marketing plan. The marketing
plan should be a celebration of the success of the company.
Our suggestions:
Strategic Development:
Branding Identity - Describe three words that best articulate
what is unique and special about you and your business. Develop
a specific character about yourself. This will be used to develop
collateral materials, website, and copy about your business.
Target market
- Identify the ideal client
- Describe their lifestyle, and demographics,
psychographics
- Determine local vs. national based client
draw.
- Explore additional targets that would
increase client base.
- Who are these people, how/where would you reach them.
Research
Competitive Assessment
- Evaluate other websites to help define image and content
Measurement
- Incorporate goals and objectives established in business
plan
