Over the past two decades, more than 300 organizations, corporations and public and private agencies in mid-Michigan have been recognized for their expertise. - City of Lansing Gives Oakland Avenue
The Cleaner, Greener TreatmentMarch 29, 2011
Lansing ----- The Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Control Program returns with a focus on one of Lansing's major roadways in a continuing effort to make the city cleaner, greener and healthier. Beginning in April, through October, Oakland Avenue will be closed between Walnut Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (including the intersection at Walnut Street and Oakland Avenue). An additional section of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, between Oakland Avenue and Saginaw Street, will be closed from June through September to southbound traffic (northbound traffic will be maintained). The City of Lansing, along with their friendly pal Swish the Fish, the CSO mascot, will help guide drivers and provide important information about closures during the construction season. - A Move into the Future of Print and DesignMarch 17, 2011

Lansing ----- One of the region's fastest growing advertising, marketing and PR agencies added two members to their award-winning team. Motion Marketing & Media (M3) hired Lindsey Whitehill, effective January 1, and most recently brought on Lisa Twenter, effective February 15, to meet the increasing needs of clients in mid-Michigan and throughout the state. Whitehill, The Sparkler, began her role at M3 in the fall of 2010 as an intern. Working diligently on a statewide account alongside other (full-time) members of the M3 team, her ability to add a little sparkle to the assignment made her really stand out. Whether it is a polish on someone's press release or that extra oomph to a creative idea, Whitehill's dedication to glitz and sparkle is truly unsurpassed. - MSUFCU Student Art Exhibition 2011January 27, 2011

with a Big CheckJanuary 4, 2011
Lansing ----- 2010 was a great year for LAFCU, and it came to an ideal close in December. Employees of the Greater Lansing area credit union, which celebrates its diamond anniversary in 2011, raised and donated $12,648.63 to the Capital Area United Way. The staff collected money, held a silent auction and raised funds all for a good cause. They also donated $5 to spin the "PA" wheel to earn paid time off, as well as opted to withhold money from their paychecks throughout the year to contribute to the donation. This isn't unusual for the staff at LAFCU; as a community-minded credit union, staff members can be found serving on local boards, participating in charity events and giving back.
