  • Experience the Fifth Annual MSUFCU Student Art ExhibitionJanuary 19, 2012
    Lansing ----- If you haven't yet experienced the MSUFCU Student Art Exhibition, stop by Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) headquarters in East Lansing beginning Thurs., February 2, 2012 to check it out. Artwork from 14 Lansing area high schools will be on display in the hope of earning your votes. "We love this event," said April Clobes, executive vice president of MSUFCU, "Our local students are so talented, and we hope even more people are able to come out this year and cast their votes." The 14 participating high schools may showcase up to 10 pieces of artwork. This year's participating schools are Bath, DeWitt, East Lansing, Everett, Grand Ledge, Haslett, Holt, Lansing Catholic, Lansing Christian, Mason, Okemos, St. Johns, Waverly, Webberville, and Williamston.

    LANSING ----- Registration is now open for the first-ever Rock the World obstacle race and music festival, taking place June 30 and July 1, 2012 at Fitzgerald Park in Grand Ledge. Rock the World is a family-friendly 3.1 mile (5K) trail course laced with at least 12 different obstacles and plenty of mud, dirt and hills to satisfy even intense athletes. The course is situated entirely among Fitzgerald Park's scenic trails, home to some of the most well-known natural rock formations in the state.

As the keynote speaker of the first-ever Horizon Conference, Scott will share her success story with attendees Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing. While not everyone may be able to relate to Scott's story, the Horizon Conference has four tracks to help women succeed - no matter what stage of their career they find themselves in.

The Outstanding Corporate Citizen award recognizes Granger for its positive contributions to the public. The local business was honored for being a "valued citizen" within the community and for giving back to residents, as well as for its ongoing commitment to providing safe, renewable and environmentally responsible trash collection and energy services.
  • 2011 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction Serves up Hope for Mid-Michigan BabiesNovember 8, 2011
    Lansing ----- More than 20 chefs from local restaurants, catering companies and country clubs served up some of Lansing's finest fare on Monday, Nov. 7 at the 2011 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction. The event raised more than $65,000 for mid-Michigan babies in need. Community members, dignitaries and business owners were able to sample the cuisine while learning more about the March of Dimes. Also on hand was the 2011 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction Ambassador Family, The Bones and honorary chair, Michigan State Senator Gretchen Whitmer, who spoke at the event. "The evening was a huge success," said Tiffany Dowling, committee co-chair for the Signature Chefs Auction and chief conversation starter and president of Motion Marketing & Media in downtown Lansing. "It's extremely rewarding to see so many people in the community coming together to raise money for mid-Michigan babies."
