Tim Strasz Joins the Opportunity Resource Fund As Vice President of Lending
June 23, 2011
Lansing ----- Tim Strasz of Williamston, Mich. recently joined the Opportunity Resource Fund (the Fund) as vice president of lending. He brings 32 years of experience in finance - as well as previous experience in the administration of local nonprofit organizations - to the Fund's Detroit office.
As vice president of lending of the Fund, Strasz will take on the responsibility of originating and underwriting loans to nonprofit organizations for affordable housing development statewide. Strasz will also oversee the total loan portfolio to ensure compliance with approved loan policies and procedures.
Prior to joining the Fund, Strasz worked in the banking industry with Michigan National Bank, Financial Health Credit Union and - most recently - Michigan State University Federal Credit Union. In addition, he has served on the boards of many nonprofit organizations and helped to start a loan fund for supplying assistive technology to people with disabilities. Strasz also served as the president of the Lansing Neighborhood Housing Corporation, a nonprofit organized by eight local banks that made loans and grants for low-to-moderate income housing developers.
The Opportunity Resource Fund provides loans, through careful and flexible resource allocation, to benefit Michigan communities. By providing access to credit that would otherwise be out of reach, the Fund helps create mixed-use buildings, commercial spaces, jobs and affordable housing where residents can thrive.
