Capital Area Women's LifeStyle Magazine to donate $4,500 to Lansing City Rescue Mission Family Center for Women and Children

Why: For the third consecutive year the CAWLM Lady Classic golf outing has benefited the LCRM Family Center for women and children. Join them as they present a check for $4,500 to the non-profit.

Details: On Thursday, Sept. 15 more than 140 women took to the golf course at Timber Ridge Golf Club in East Lansing for the annual CAWLM Lady Classic, presented this year by Independent Bank. Along with a portion of entry fees and sponsorship dollars, all of the money raised on the day of the event through a variety of activities including a celebrity caddy auction, is donated to the LCRM Family Center for women and children.

To date the CAWLM Lady Classic has raised a total of more than $11,000 for the LCRM Family Center. This year CAWLM's donation will help to fund the purchase of the Skills Tutor program at the shelter, aiding women who wish to complete their GED or high school diploma. The online, self-study curriculum will be available primarily to longterm guests of the shelter. The total cost for the program is $7,500, but can be purchased in increments.
