Experience the Fifth Annual MSUFCU Student Art Exhibition

Local High School Students Showcase more than 130 Works of Art

Lansing ----- If you haven't yet experienced the MSUFCU Student Art Exhibition, stop by Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) headquarters in East Lansing beginning Thurs., February 2, 2012 to check it out. Artwork from 14 Lansing area high schools will be on display in the hope of earning your votes.

"We love this event," said April Clobes, executive vice president of MSUFCU, "Our local students are so talented, and we hope even more people are able to come out this year and cast their votes." The 14 participating high schools may showcase up to 10 pieces of artwork. This year's participating schools are Bath, DeWitt, East Lansing, Everett, Grand Ledge, Haslett, Holt, Lansing Catholic, Lansing Christian, Mason, Okemos, St. Johns, Waverly, Webberville, and Williamston.

The public is invited to the lobby of the MSUFCU headquarters to view students' artwork and vote for their favorites. You can also view the artwork and vote online starting Wed., February 1 at www.msufcuart.com. Votes help determine the People's Choice Award and a School Spirit Award, given to the high school that draws the most voters. Prizes include $300 and a $50 gift card to Blick Art Materials for first place winners, $200 for second place winners, $100 for and cash prizes for 10 honorable mentions.

A panel of judges will also determine the Juried-Award winner, as well as Honorable Mentions. This year's panel includes: Catherine Babcock, Executive Director of the Lansing Art Gallery, Alice Brinkman, Director of REACH Studio Art Center and Resident Artist and Simon Perazza, Director of Constituent Relations for ArtServe Michigan.

Visit the MSUFCU headquarters at 3777 West Road, East Lansing beginning February 2. Artwork will be displayed in the lobby during viewing hours: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Artwork will remain on display until February 26. Those who cannot make it in to MSUFCU are invited to learn more about the exhibition, view artwork and vote for their favorites online at www.msufcuart.com.
